Ian Damon presents the early evening show, Sundays 1700-2100.
Ian was born in Sydney, Australia and after eight years as a broadcaster Down Under relocated to Bishops Stortford, Herts. He joined the original Big L on the Galaxy replacing Tony Blackburn in 1967; and was given the name of 'Wombat' by Tony Brandon. On its demise, Ian freelanced and was engaged by ATV London and ABC Manchester as well as contributing to Radio 2's 'Roundabout' programme.
Following a return of five years to Antipodean shores, Ian came back to the UK, and was part of the original team at Capital Radio. In the 80s and 90s, after a stint at Blue Danube Radio in Austria, he worked for provincial stations in England including Pennine, LBC and Mercury.
Ian has been in broadcasting for over 50 years and has been an active member of Lions Clubs International for over forty.
